Hello! When an order is completely covered by a coupon, including shipping and tax, Woo marks the downstream shipping and sales tax fees as a negative payment, and puts this deficit into the “Returns” category. It took me a while to figure that out, there isn’t too much documentation on that. But I do have some remaining questions:
- Are “Refunds” also grouped into the “Returns” metric? We still have “Refunds” in the list of analytics terms in the Woo docs, and no “Return” definition. I’ve been telling my clients a refund is different than a return (because of the above categorization), but I am not sure if actual refunds are also grouped into that metric, and if they can be split apart with any filters somewhere.
- Can this “negative payment” feature be removed or recategorized in any way? Is there any current discussion or roadmap on potentially recategorizing these things if others are also finding this confusing?
Thank you! Looking forward to your help.
