Failed Payment corrected, but Double charge showing on Order page

We recieved a failed payment email and saw the order status marked “Failed”. After the customer emailed asking about their order saying their card had been charged, we looked into order details and saw according to Stripe website dashboard, the customer entered the wrong CVC code twice, then the third try got it right and payment succeeded.

Stripe website shows:

Payment using Visa succeeded: Jan 28, 2025, 9:07 PM
Failed payment with Visa(The bank returned the decline code invalid_cvc) :Jan 28, 2025, 9:06 PM
Failed payment with Visa(The bank returned the decline code invalid_cvc): Jan 28, 2025, 9:05 PM
Payment started: Jan 28, 2025, 9:05 PM

The order notes show (I redacted part of the charge id for this post, but it is a duplicate charge ID):

  • Stripe charge complete (Charge ID:ch_3….3)January 28, 2025 at 6:11 pm Delete note
  • Stripe charge complete (Charge ID: ch_3…3)January 28, 2025 at 6:07 pm Delete note
  • Payment failed: Your card’s security code is invalid. Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.January 28, 2025 at 6:05 pm Delete note

What I’m confused about is why didn’t the status change from “Failed” to “Processing” after the charge was successful and why is the the payment section of the order off? it shows :

Items Subtotal:$40.50

Shipping:$9.99

Order Total:$50.49

Paid:$50.49January 31, 2025 via Credit / Debit Card

 Stripe Fee:-$3.52 

Stripe Payout:$97.46

Is this going to mess with our analytics and how can I change that info. Stripe only shows the order total as going to pay out.
