Hi Team,
I am using the HPOS already on my e-commerce site. However, I can still feel the long delay during checkout. Because of this, we are experiencing customers abandoning after that point. They perceive nothing is happening I guess.
Question – Is there a way to make the checkout process faster?
Just my thoughts (Let’s say)
1. After the checkout page form validation (once customer has filled up the required fields correclty), can this order be put in some kind of queue? and let them know that “Your order has been placed, you will receive the email shortly” message (without any order number)?
2. The orders in the queue will be processed (by cron or ajax…. etc. whatever is suitable)
3. Once the order is processed, customer will receive an email with order received confirmation email as usual.
I understand that whole process of updating the order database and present the customer with order number on confirmation page is causing this.
Any other solutions you can suggest to improve the reduce the checkout process?
