torndownunit on "[Plugin: WooCommerce - excelling eCommerce] WooCommerce - don't require email on checkout?"

I have followed the tutorial on the WooCommerce site on how to disable billing fields on checkout. It works, but if the email field is disabled, you will get an error on checkout because it still requires any email. Is there a way to adjust it so that it doesn't require an email? I want people to be able to input no personal info on checkout, including there email. Thanks.
